I found, that until I could be happy with myself (the way I am) — I couldn’t be happy. Many unhappy people take the goth or grumpy otaku route, and remain unhappy for the rest of their lives. However, this needn’t be the case. You don’t need to stop caring, loving (real love - affection not sex) or emotion that makes you human. You just need to get to a point, where you stop caring about what other people think, and/or say about you. Other people’s view of you (or how they treat you) has no baring on who you are. How you are is how you treat others.

Ironically, the more I stopped caring about who liked me - the happier I became — and (to my surprise) I became more popular. (See my blog about my Christmas season - http://ameblo.jp/b-ann-e/). I was given a room to myself, because I was a loner and never really got along with other more popular kids in my family. I set up my room the way I liked, prepared just to stay there, but I let my cousins (who were curious) hang out in the room. Now I have a group to hang out with. The only difference, is this year I am more relaxed about sharing my stuff — I don’t care that someone is more popular than I am. Or talks, about how popular they are. I’m happy with me — and that’s all that matter.

Well tomorrow is old Christmas eve, which will be mostly church. Yesterday, I went over what I wanted for my tapas bar, and the other girls now want a tapas bar in their room. So we worked on the tapas bars together, adding one to the basement too. All the choices will be made today and tomorrow.

Other than food shopping, it’s mostly tv today. From now until Greek new years, we are going to do marathons of our favorite Disney and Nick shows. It looks more and more, that I’ll keep a room at one of my aunties’ . That why traveling back to Boston (when I come on my own) will only be the cost of a plane ticket. Some of my aunties, are say that I should do the same thing in Greece — so I think I will begin cyber-traveling to Greece.

All of our shopping is done, but going shopping just seems the thing to do, when you’ve run out of ideas at home. One of the gifts I received for new Christmas was storage space to store items I want to keep in Boston (for whenever I come). This will be the mini-fridge, small microwave, and the tapas serving dishes. I’m also thinking of leaving my portable network. So, I will use one of the netbooks I got for new Christmas to learn and practice remote log-in, desktop and network configuration.

Well, new years day went well. I had more access to the kitchen, making my tapas bar out of leftovers. Making chicken fingers for the basement was rather easy — so the migration had food to snack on. For the girls, we all work together to keep or places clean (including the basement). The boys — well, it’s piling up!!!

The countdown to old Christmas (January 7th) has begun. New presents are under the tree!! This will be followed by twelve days of celebration. Although the crowd usually thins out, more of the kids are asking to stay — and the moms seem agreeable.

よく、新しい年の日はうまくいった。私は私のタパスが食べ残しから締め出すこと、キッチンへのより多くのアクセスを持っていた。地下のために鶏の指を作ることはかなり簡単だった - 移行がでスナックに食べ物を持っていたので。女の子のための、我々はすべての（地下を含む）をきれいに保つかの場所に一緒に働く。男の子は - よく、それは蓄積している！

古いクリスマスへのカウントダウン（1月7日）が始まりました。新しいプレゼントはツリーの下にあります！これは、お祝いの12日間が続きます。群衆が通常より薄くですが、子供たちの多くは、滞在に求めている - とママが快適に見える。

Happy New Year!!

Everything is quiet — now. In a few hours, the boys (of all ages) will be watching football (the New Years day sport of choice). There is nothing better, than a good cup of hot chocolate — real hot chocolate not that powdered stuff. A carton of chocolate milk, a wide coffee house mug, three minutes in the microwave and a few marshmallows !!! Ahhhh Bliss !!!

So I hosted (in my room) a Godzilla movie marathon, and for about 20 minutes (11:50 to 12:10) we watched New Years eve in Tokyo (thanks to a webcam) and then (later) we watched both Dick Clark’s Rock’n New Years Eve (on ABC) and CNN’s countdown. We had both the TV and laptop going. I’m aiming to get one of those new portable LED projectors.

Orange punch (with mango) mixed with lime pop, was our Champaign. Syrian meatballs (kibby) , Greek souvlaki, spring rolls, cheese & spinach pies and a variety of other tapas - formed our tapas bar. Made everything earlier - and got permission from the Mom, to put everything together in the kitchen and then bring it to my room. So this otaku’s humble home, for this Christmas Season, was party central. However, I didn’t hog it all. I helped the girls put together their room and helped fix up the basement (the boys didn’t want any help). So the usual migration occurred.

I have more planned (sort of) for today! I’ll tell you tomorrow how things went.

ハッピーニューイヤー！

すべてが静かです - 今。数時間で、男の子は（すべての年齢の）（選択の元旦のスポーツ）サッカーを見られます。本物のホットチョコレートではないこと、粉末原料 - ホットチョコレートの良いカップよりも良いものは何もありません、。チョコレートミルクのカートン、幅広いコーヒーハウスマグ、三波の分と少数のマシュマロ！ラキスタノキワミブリス！

だから私は（私の部屋で）ゴジラ映画のマラソンを主催し、約20分（11時50まで12:10）のために我々は、東京で新年の前夜を見た（ウェブカメラのおかげで）、その後（後）私たちは見て、両方のディッククラークのロックン大晦日（ABC）とCNNのカウントダウン。我々は、テレビとラップトップの両方が行っていた。私はそれらの新しいポータブルLEDはプロジェクターのいずれかを取得することを目指しています。

ライムポップを混ぜオレンジパンチは（マンゴー）、私たちのシャンだった。シリアのミートボール（kibby）、ギリシャのスブラキ、春巻き、チーズ＆ほうれん草パイや他のタパスの様々な - 私たちのタパスバーを結成。以前のすべてのものを作った - と台所で一緒にすべてをかけるし、私の部屋にそれを持って来るためにお母さんからの許可を、得た。このオタクの謙虚な自宅ように、このクリスマスシーズンに向けて、党中央はあった。しかし、私はそれをすべて独り占めしていない。私は、女の子は自分の部屋をまとめる助けと地下（男の子が助けを望んでいないが）、フィックスアップに貢献。ので、通常のマイグレーションが発生しました。

私は今日のために（一種の）計画しています！物事がどうだった私はあなたに明日を教えてあげる。
